Mortal Kombat 10: Is a New Versus Game in the Works?

With so many versus games popping up from everywhere, your mind may start to list down some of the fighting games that you know. Then, you start mix and matching them up. You think of the characters and their abilities and where they would end up looking great. Then, you might be able to come up with the perfect versus game combo.

The versus games may have been party to the revival of fighting games. A few years back, the genre was dying. Then, Capcom launched Street Fighter 4. After that release, there was some sort of resurgence of fighting games. In fact, the comeback could even be considered “huge”. It even paved the way to parent companies combining their franchises together. There are a lot of versus games out there now. Think of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe and Marvel vs Capcom. Of course, we will also be getting Street Fighter X Tekken soon, too. What do you think will be the next partnering up? Ed Boon tweets about a possible Mortal Kombat versus Street Fighter or Street Fighter versus Mortal Kombat, whatever the case may be. There will be some question of which of the titles will end up taking the lead somehow. The Ed Boon tweet is more like raising some versus possibilities. Supposedly there is going to be a meeting about the versus game or concept.

What do you think of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter partnering up in a versus game? Do you like the idea of it? Well, it does sound like an exciting proposition. However, at this point, we can only hope that the idea does get pursued and that Ed Boon will be updating us via Twitter or any other media about what would end up happening in what could just be a random idea of his.
