London 2012 – The Official Video Game: Are You Ready?

As the world gets ready to watch the games, we thought we would get you in the mood for the Olympic Games by showing you a clip from Sega’s official London 2012 video game. Because we are kind like that.

With everybody getting into the Olympic spirit I think we can guarantee that this game will be a big hit. It might even go some way towards fixing this year’s slump in video games’ sales. The game gives sports fans, both experienced and casual gamers the chance to bring the excitement of the Olympics home. Now everybody can be a record breaker!

In the clip you can see a few of the sports that you can get involved with. In total you can experience about 45 different events, using your standard controller or, for some events, the motion controllers depending on your platform. Some people may scoff at the motion control systems, either Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360 or Sony’s Move for PlayStation 3, however a casual sports game, such as London 2012 –  The Official Video Game, is the perfect application. Sega have even implemented a Party Play mode for multiplayer. Now you and your friends can continue the games even while the real life athletes are sleeping.

Are you excited for London 2012? What events are you looking forward to the most? Leave your comments in the section below.
