Journey: Fastest Selling PSN Game. Ever.
Talk about a run away hit! The overwhelming popularity of Journey, from the same developers as Flower, has seen the title overtake inFamous: Festival of Blood as the fastest-selling PSN game of all time. It’s aazing what a little bit of hype can do. Not that the hype is unjustified. Journey is a stunningly beautiful game that delights the senses.
The game mixes simple, mesmerizing gameplay with beautiful animation and ethereal sounds. If you don’t know what we are talking about I recommend watching the trailer below. Developers, thatgamecompany, have revealed that they have been overwhelmed the love they have received as a result of this title. Jenova Chen, co-founder of thatgamecompany, talked of the shear volume of letters from fans the company had received over the last two weeks. They have recieved so much positive feedback from fans that they have decided to release the soundtrack. Which is one of the most haunting scores you will hear this side of Braid and Dear Esther.
Journey is not a long game. From start to finish it takes about 3 hours. It is different. It is not a hardcore game at all, by any means, but then I would not want to call it casual either. It occupies that space between art and game that thatgamecompany carved for themselves with Flow and Flower.
