God of War 4: Is Sony Dropping Hints?
The Playstation official facebook page is sporting a new image. The mysterious image shows a brownish/gold background with darker text saying “Will Vengeance Bring Redemption.” Of course, the image also mentions a date. In this case, April 19, 2012.Welcome to the very familiar territory of anticipation or reveal marketing.
There is no mention of a developer or studio behind the mysterious image. Still, this small detail hasn’t prevented overactive minds in the gaming blogosphere to speculate that this is a tease for the rumored Red Dead Redemption sequel. There’s one small problem to this theory-Rockstar already has their hands full with Grand Theft Auto 5 and Max Payne 3 is still undergoing polishing. It is quite unlikely this tease image has anything to do with a Rockstar project.
What’s more likely is that this teaser image might have something to do with Sony’s best-selling God of War franchise. In particular, this might be the opening tease for the upcoming release for God of War 4, Sony’s Greek mythology-themed action adventure game series There’s something about the text font and colors that give the impression that this is GoW-related. Also, the text content is consistent with the series’ overall theme and tone.

Finally, the last God of War, God of War 3, was released two years ago. Developer Sony Computer Entertaintment (Santa Monica) said that while GoW 3 marked the end of a trilogy, it did not end the franchise. This leaves space for a God of War 4 release.
