Final Fantasy 13-2: Coliseum gets Jihl Nabaat Addition

Earlier Square Enix made a promise to Final fantasy series fans which got quite a few people excited-Final Fantasy 13-2′s Coliseum will be featuring faces from the series’ past installment. Quite naturally, this triggered a whole lot of speculation as to which characters from the long-running RPG series’ past will be showing their mugs.

A lot of fans had their hopes pinned on Sephiroth. Others were rooting for Ultros. Even others were hoping Kefka would make the cut. Sadly, none of these favorites have been announced as Coliseum cameo characters. However, a veteran of Final Fantasy 13, Jihl Nabaat, did make it past the screening process and will be appearing in the Coliseum. If she doesn’t strike a chord with you, that’s because she was quite a minor character. She was the villain who led the Cocoon Army’s special division. Her selection makes one wonder what Square Enix was thinking. Why? There’s already a clamor for the three characters listed above, but they chose to go another direction. It’s not like it takes heavy detective work to figure out which characters fans would want to appear in the Coliseum. The bottom line is this: is Jihl Nabaat worth the $3 DLC price? I can understand Lightning being added as a villain being worth $3 but Jihl?

Thankfully, there is more Lightning content coming our way. The DLC will drop around the middle of May. Dubbed “Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess,” this DLC clues us in to this character’s whereabouts during her fight with Caius. As we reported earlier, Square Enix mentioned that the Final Fantasy brand has been eroded by dubious content decisions in the past. Will the Jihl Nabaat DLC decision add to that roster of bad decisions?
