FIFA Soccer 12: Hottest Soccer Game On The Market
Today, the FIFA video game franchise is known for being a top-seller in the sports video games category. It has shattered records, the last one its own. Would you believe that things were not always like this for the franchise? Well, it was not. The Winning Eleven series, now called Pro Evolution Soccer, used to overtake FIFA. However, the FIFA and EA combination has proven to be a formula for success later along the way.
Keith Ramsdale, who is EA’s VP and GM for Northern Europe, reveals today that FIFA 12 is so far pummelling PES at the sales department 25:1. To be fair, the ratio was taken only during the launch weekend. Of course, it will be very difficult if not impossible for PES to overtake FIFA 12 now but at least it can soften the blow a little by lowering the ratio a few notches.

The statistics is just a lesson in just how much competition can change the standing of video games. Developers also have to learn how to evolve to ensure that their product remains fresh despite the fact that the franchise has already spawned several sequels. FIFA 12 has grown so much as a sports game, delivering more impressive features through the years while PES has hit a new low. The two can still continue their journeys, hopefully both to evolve for the better. Ah, competition. Only time will tell if PES does get enough strength for a comeback. For now, I can only recommend FIFA 12. It is now in retail stores for PC, PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 use.
