Far Cry 3: Developer Answers Key Fan Questions
In conjunction with IGN, Ubisoft Montreal fielded some questions collected from the game’s fans and followers over Twitter. While the developer wasn’t able to answer all questions, they did shed a lot about the upcoming title. Ubisoft Montreal was not able to comment on issues regarding PC DRM, split-screen multiplayer features, map-making features, or cooperative game play. However, they were able to supply the following details. There will not be any gorilla monsters in Far Cry 3 but there will be a large variety of other animals to hunt and be hunted by.
Unlike Far Cry 2, there will no longer be any enemy checkpoint respawns. Your actions change the game world so places you cleared out will stay cleared out. Factions you do missions for will recognize you and not shoot you-unlike Far Cry 2. While the development team did not disclose the actual size of the game’s island, they assured players that the island will have an adequate “density of experience.” There will be quite a bit of things to do on the island. It won’t be a large island with nothing happening. In terms of game play, Far Cry 3 will be a mix of Far Cry 2 and 1. The team took the best features from both previous games and put them into the latest installment.
