F.E.A.R. 3: New terrifiying cinematic trailer
Fear 3′s cinematic trailer has just been released, and it definitely lives up to the Fear game series’ ability to get under our skin, touch psychic nerves, and overall tantalizingly spook us with delicious dread. The video highlights the brothers Paxton Fettel and Point Man narrating their bloody past. A little background before I talk about the game’s cinematic trailer, F.E.A.R stands for First Encounter Assault Recon. It is a macabre and horror-based first person shooter. F.E.A.R. revolves around a special recon team whose sole goal is to contain a horrific supernatural force. Think of it as a Quake slamming head on to a thick stack of Chuckie, Freddie Kruger, Amityville Horror, The Grudge, and other horror DVDs. The first installment of this series was released in 2005 and F.E.A.R. 3 was originally scheduled for release in March 2011, but it’s been delayed to May 2011.
The video featured the brothers Pointman and Paxton in a helicopter. Paxton asks Pointman, “How does it feel to kill your own brother?” Paxton really digs in and accuses pointman of not even questioning his orders when he killed Paxton. It’s obvious that Paxton is in undead form. All of a sudden, there is an explosion. Nice and horrific end to the trailer. Given the psychological tension this FPS packs, it is no wonder tons of people are waiting for its release in May. Fear 3 will be available on all three platforms–PC, XBOX, and PS3.
