Dragon Age 2: New trailer shows off Hawke character

In anticipation of the upcoming Dragon Age 2 demo that will be released by EA soon, EA is showing off Dragon Age 2′s new star character, Hawke. The latest Dragon Age 2 trailer shows Hawke picking through differing story paths in the game. Although the trailer video shows Hawke as male, Dragon Age 2 players can select a female version. Dragon Age has always allowed players to choose playable character attributes and the dialogue and game elements modified to fit these configuration choices.

The trailer shows Hawke’s differing paths in the game based on class choices–as warrior, mage, or rogue. Although all three classes are quite distinct from each other when it comes to combat action, Hawke’s rendition of these three classes show quite a bloodlust that is quite disturbing graphically.

Dragon Age 2 is slated for release on the PC, XBOX 360 and PS3 on March 8. The demo for all three platforms is scheduled for distribution on February 22. These are global release dates.

Pity Hawke is ALL you can play. No dwarf, no elf, no magic using halfling. All that died with the crazy decision to voice act the player character.

Fans of Dragon Age Origins – DA died after Awakening, much like Gothic died with Gothic 3. This is just an anime hack and slash-style action game with some RPG illusions that happens to take place in Thedas. It will probably be fun, in a way that Mass Effect 2 was.

Oh, and EA will bleed you to death on DLC (which is ready pre-lease), and the DRM will phone your game telemtry home evey ten days, and you won’t get 60 hours like Origins, but rather 30ish.
