Deus Ex – Human Revolution: DLC To Be Released Next Week

Letting Deus Ex – Human Revolution rest on the shelves is actually a good idea.  Can you believe that? Well, the game is not one for the shelves but I would want to wait just a little bit more for the upcoming DLC update. When the update arrives, playing Human Revolution would feel just like the first time. Eidos Montreal has just announced that Missing Link will be coming out on three platforms this coming October 18. The wait will not be long.  This downloadable content will basically bridge the narrative gap near the end of Human Revolution’s story. The DLC will cost $15.

It does raise some questions about the main release, Human Revolution. Was the game released with a narrative purposely cut from it? Human Revolution developers insist that it was not the case despite the fact that Missing Link when inserted results into a full story that makes sense. The DLC, however, is an improvement of sorts. It makes use of lessons learned while Human Revolution was in development. One of the more obvious results of tweaking is the lighting’s redder look as compared to the main game’s orange/gold combination.

Do you know that you won’t have powers in the Missing Link? For me, that is actually a great idea especially since I know how it went with Minerva for BioShock 2. So in the Missing Link, players will most likely progress through most of the skills available on Human Revolution even through the DLC’s super-condensed time covered. I know that it was a great idea to set Human Revolution aside for awhile. With the new DLC, it will feel like a new game again.
