Dead Island: The Possibility Of A Dead World
Dead Island’s cinematic trailer may have promised more drama but the zombie fight-fest of a game still manages to shine both in terms of critics and of popularity. So, there could be a sequel in the horizon. I think Dead Island deserves that sequel. It had received some good reviews and had sold well enough despite it’s trouble.
Word has it that developer Techland already trademarked the title “Dead World”. With a name like that, fans are hopeful that the sequel will encompass a much larger virtual world. The original title was set in the island of Banoi. The zombie problem must have spread out really fast, from taking over just one small island to overcoming the world. We can only know for sure when “Dead World” gets announced and starts coming out in trailers.

So yeah, that is the deal for now. No official announcements as yet from Techland. But this does not prevent me from hoping that there really is a Dead Island sequel being developed or about to be developed. The trademark purchase, however, really seems to suggest that we will be getting more zombies in the future.
Techland was actually directly asked about Dead World. The developer was not yet ready to give out a direct response, however. There are no comments about the rumored upcoming sequel. “Thanks for your interest in Techland and for contacting us. I guess I won’t surprise you much by saying that Techland isn’t going to comment on the trademark at this time.”
