Darksiders 2: Game Gets Pushed Back to August
Things have not been looking good for THQ lately. As we reported earlier, the company reported large layoffs. It also suffered a few missed game sales goals after that announcement. Add this piece of news to the string of bad news regarding this game publisher.
Darksiders 2′s release has been pushed back to August. This is quite a bummer since many action adventure fans have been looking forward to how this second installment based on one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will try to improve on the gameplay and action of the first installment. Also, this upcoming game title also focuses on Death, revenge, and lots of no holds barred action. Sounds like a recipe for several hours of intense hardcore gaming fun. Sadly, the title will no longer drop on June 26 but fans, whether new or old or merely curious, would have to wait until August now.
What may have caused this delay? THQ says that the game’s release date was pushed back in order to give the developer time to polish and make sure the game meets the high quality expectations of the development team. Sounds like a standard template that makes everyone look good. The real reason, according to some game industry observers, may not be a bad sign for THQ.
According to this view, the delay might be a good thing because it is meant to synchronize Darksiders 2′s launch with the Wii U. That would be truly a win win situation for developer Vigil Games. The Wii U gets one more title to launch with and Vigil gets to benefit from the massive attention focused by the gaming world on the Wii U and titles released for it.
