Call of Duty – Black Ops 2: Reveal Trailer Released
The internet’s worst kept secret has finally been officially revealed and it comes in the form a trailer portraying a terrifyingly plausible near future. Treyarch have finally announced Call of Duty – Black Ops 2, featuring old faces and new faces and an updated engine.
Call of Duty – Black Ops 2 is set mainly 13 years in the future and the outlook is pretty bleak. Terrorists have taken over control of America’s extensive fleet of drones and is using them to attack their owners. The reveal trailer shows fire bomb attacks on downtown L.A all in the name of the 2nd Cold War. What Treyarch appear to have done here is remarkably clever. They haven’t set the story too far ahead in the future. The weaponry is advanced, but not totally unbelievable. The scenarios too, are also believable given certain events in our present. The Cold War is with China, who now owns all of the rare earth elements that we need for all of our technology. Part of the action also seems to take place in Afghanistan during the 1980′s, there is a scene in the reveal trailer set on horseback, while a period Russian made helicopter looms overhead.
We here in the GameBandits office were pleasantly surprised by the Call of Duty – Black Ops 2 reveal trailer. It certainly seems that Treyarch have found a way to take the series forward, while at the same time remaining faithful to the story arc of the previous Black Ops games. But what do you guys think?
