Borderlands 2: The Mechromancer Announced With a Spanking New Trailer
Launching post release as DLC, Borderlands 2 will be receiving an addition character class in the form of the Mechromancer it has been revealed by the game’s developers Gearbox. The announcement was made this weekend at the game’s conference PAX East, which took place in Boston.
The really great news is that the DLC will be free for those people with the foresight to pre-order the title. Others will have to pay. Gearbox have not indicated when the content will be available or how much it will cost when it is but it has detailed the class via a cool new trailer. The character is part woman part mechanism, controlling a robotic partner that is called D374-TP (Deathtrap). Randy Pitchford of Gearbox did confirm however that the DLC will be competitively priced to other DLC, so I guess that could be anything from a dollar to 60 bucks…
Aside from the DLC, wealthy fans will be able to purchase the $149.99 special edition of Borderlands 2, the main selling points being the cool lootbox packaging and the Marcus doll with the wobbly head. The cynic in me says this is not good value, but I am sure this is a dream for many fans. And it will certainly add something to you ride as you are driving along. There’s still a bit of time to go until we get to see the finished game as it is not due for release until September. But judging by the few videos that have been released it could be really quite good.
