Borderlands 2: Official Actress for Lilith Announced
Developer Gearbox announced the actress who will play Lilith in Borderlands 2, the upcoming sequel to the Borderlands FPS game. Lilith was one the popular characters in Borderlands, a role-playing game with some elements of science fiction released in 2009. According to the company, Lilith will still be a live-action character in the sequel, although in a much less active NPC role.
Gearbox Software held a casting call earlier to search for the young lady who will play Lilith. After going through thousands of head shots, the company finally chose the woman who for the important role, and her name is Yasemin Arslan. An Australian model with an exotic accent, Arslan still needs to be decked with the red hair, the crazy contact lenses, and the right clothing. But when it was all done – whoa! A leading gaming publication already made a video of the transformation. Gearbox seems very satisfied with their choice. “It was kind of uncanny with some of the still shots we set up for this where, wow, she’s Lilith,” said company CEO Randy Pitchford. “We did our first test shoot with her, and there was a moment with her when we asked her to express sadness. Just like that she really just nailed me with it, and I couldn’t believe how quickly one can get there.”
“She’s such a strong, confident badass character,” says Arslan of Lilith. “And just to have the opportunity to play that makes you feel good.” Arslan, however will not be the only real person that the sequel will feature. The mysterious character Guardian Angel will be played by model Britanni Johnson Borderlands 2 is scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2012 for the Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
