Batman – Arkham City: First Gameplay Trailer released
Batman: Arkham City’s been letting out a lot more heat than light lately–specially when it comes to game play. Recent press releases about this project have focused on server functionality for multiplayer operations, Calendar Man and his role in the game, the delicious addition of Catwoman to the game, and even the rappelling action of Batman hitching a ride off helicopters. If your interest has been piqued, you are definitely in for a treat with the latest news from this highly anticipated title. Rocksteady, developer of Batman: Arkham City, has released a game play trailer. Finally. Depending on how big of a fan you are of this title’s predecessor, 2009′s Batman: Arkham Asylum, you might be either thrilled or underwhelmed.
Just judging from the gameplay video, it appears that nothing major has changed regarding gameplay and ambience. I guess this is to be expected considering its only been two years since Arkham Asylum. Game standards and visual graphic standards haven’t dramatically changed from 2009 to now. This isn’t exactly the case of a huge expectation gulf like say, for example, the latest and last previous Duke Nukem release. The big difference, as expected and quite fitting, is the large size of the game world. It SHOULD be bigger since Arkham Asylum is a closed space and Arkham City is, well, a city. Regardless, the ambience is right, the character mix is definitely right. This title sure is shaping up to be another big hit.
