Assassin’s Creed 3: GamesCom Trailer With Yet More Seafaring Action

Yesterday, Ubisoft treated us all here at GamesCom with more footage from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 3. As we have already seen, gamers will have to navigate combat aboard ship, however this latest trailer takes the action one step further.

The trailer took us from a snow covered Boston to the sun bathed Carribean, full of palm trees and pirates. During the sequence we saw that not only will players have to contend with frenetic melée combat, but they will have the task made even more difficult by the treacherous weather conditions. We were given a hands on trial of the sequence, in which the player has to navigate a war ship to attack two others. You are given a 3 minute time limit to complete your mission, which is easier said than done as the canons and shells only fire from the sides, and the boat turns like a 20 year old Volvo, and due to the new weather mechanics, the visibility is compromised.

Ubisoft have certainly made the game seem very impressive from the footage that they have shown us. Talking at their press conference yesterday, Ubisoft emphasized how much more ambitious Assassin’s Creed 3 is, in comparison to previous Assassin’s Creed games. The game will be a lot more open world, and Connor will also be able to cut through buildings. Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
