Uncharted – Golden Abyss: Motion Capture Session Seems Like a Lot of Fun
Uncharted – Golden Abyss is one of the most popular launch titles of the new PlayStation Vita. Like most games, there is some voice acting that has to be done in order for the game development to be completed. Not uncommon for the Uncharted franchise however, is an extensive motion capturing process to get through. We get to know more just how these production activities happen with a behind the scenes video that shows a particular motion capture scene.
In the video, we see Richard McGonagle (a.k.a. Victor Sullivan) and Nolan North (a.k.a. Nathan Drake) paddling a makeshift boat while donning jumpsuits. The whole scene should represent something a lot more serious in the game itself. After all, Nathan Drake is constantly on a quest to find things while avoiding enemies. However, the behind the scenes video shows that the actors are having a great time shooting the motion capture scene. There is some banter, possibly to take away the edge of the humorous situation. Just take a look at the jumpsuits that they are wearing. We would start making fun of ourselves quite extensively while wearing something like that. Well, maybe the jumpsuits are not that bad, but the two look like winter athletes of some sort and the canoe says it is make-believe time all over again.
The Vita launch title, Golden Abyss, is from Sony Bend although creators Naughty Dog closely coordinated with the team most likely to make sure that the franchise gets represented accurately and according to their vision. These efforts extended to the terms of the Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan motion capture. The title will be released on February 22nd together with the PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe.
