PS Vita: Sleeper Timer gets Adjustment with 1.65 Update
Has this ever happened to you? You are playing Wipeout 2048 on your Playstation Vita and patiently waiting to connect to opponents. All of a sudden your handheld goes into sleep mode. Talk about a buzzkill, right? Thankfully, this minor irritation will disappear soon.
Sony is releasing a firmware update that promises to adjust the sleeper timer on your unit. The update changes your Power Saver settings by adding a new option to this settings tab. This extends the amount of time you have before your PS Vita goes into sleep mode. The adjustment takes the waiting time to 10 minutes. The update will also enable players to control notifications through a notification toggle button. Say goodbye to annoying notifications. Also, Caps lock functionality is going to be added to the handheld’s on-screen keyboard. This allows you a broader range of emotional expression. Finally, the update also adds an arrow icon that will appear whenever your handheld console discovers “new activities in the LiveArea.”

So far the Playstation Vita’s sales numbers are not as stellar as Sony has hoped for. The iconic electronics company is in good company because Nintendo’s 3DS initially launched to tepid market response. After a nice price cut and some time on the market, the 3DS appears to be getting some traction. Maybe the same will happen to the Vita?
