Persona 4 – The Golden: Japanese Launch Date Is Set On June 14
It looks like many fans of the Japanese high school role-playing game Persona 4 in the US and the rest of the West may have to start looking to local importation procedures come June 14. Why? Persona 4 – The Golden is set to launch in Japan on that exact date.
The popular role playing game Persona 4 has many American and western otaku. Indeed, when the game launched on the PS2, it stayed in the top Amazon spot for two consecutive weeks. Still, it is quite a bittersweet situation that fans might need to arrange for Japanese friends to buy them a copy of Persona 4 – The Golden and ship it to the west. The game is tentatively priced at ¥7,000. That’s over $85. While it may seem quite hefty, this game offers a lot of updates for die hard game fans, for example a gardening simulator, where you will be able to…well…raise plants.
Developer Atlus and the publisher of Famitsu magazine, Enterbrain, have partnered to provide game fans a great bundle. Dubbed the “Famitsu DX Pack,” this bundle includes six A3 posters featuring game illustrations from Hiroyuki Maeda, Studio Hibari, Mad House, Shuji Sogabe, and Shigenori Soejima. Other pack contents include ten postcards and a pouch.
If the news above isn’t awesome enough as it is, keep in mind that it followed hot on the heels of the previous announcement that Atlus will be launching Persona 4 – Arena in the US market by this summer. Persona 4 – Arena will be available for the PS3 and the Xbox 360, by the way.
