Persona 4: Arcade Version of Arena to be Released on March 1
Come March 1, Japanese fans of the fighting game version of the teen anime roleplaying Persona series will get to enjoy the arcade version of the game.
In addition to the action of Persona 4, the arcade version also include card support for the NESiCA IC and the ability to change your profile and purchase customizations and other add-ons via the in-game feature called “Persona Dollars.” These features are summed up as the “player’s guild” feature. Keep in mind that this is a fighting game version and won’t have the same elements as previous Persona installments. If you’re looking to see Persona characters fighting, this is the title to pick up. If you want an actual Persona installment that has all the elements of the previous Persona games, this might not be the title for you.
Arc System Works developed the 2D fight title. This is the same development shop that developed the BlazBlues and Guilty Gear series. Arena’s story is set after the events in Persona 4 transpired. Arena will also feature Persona 3 characters. Arc System Works created other fighting games using characters they licensed from other popular games like Nura – Rise of the Yokai Clan and Fist of the North Star. Sadly, there is no Western market release dates for these fighting games.
