MLB 12 – The Show: Sony Releases the Game’s ‘The Stories’ Teaser Video
Sony has just released the MLB 12 –The Show teaser that focuses on the individual stories of the baseball players that are part of the game’s roster. The video begins with the players each talking about how they started out as baseball players. One by one, they talk about their beginnings, most of them citing an early start. One player says, “When I was fifteen years old, I was playing against semi-pro players in Mexico.”
Another says, “I started out pretty young,” and yet another one declares, I had a real passion for it from a very young age.” Then, more baseball players come in but their statements have somehow mixed into an orchestra of voice, each declaring his passion for the game in his own way. The teaser video is pretty powerful stuff. We don’t just get to see the animated characters but we also get to see the actual players the characters have been modelled from. We see their passion and we somehow get inspired into being passionate ourselves – maybe not for the actual baseball game but for MLB 12 – The Show. MLB 12 – The Show, as the very name suggests, is a video game that focuses on simulating Major League Baseball games. Sony San Diego developed the title while Sony Computer Entertainment will do the publishing. The game is soon to be released – this coming March 6, 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Sony’s new handheld gaming device, the PlayStation Vita. The title will also be the very first of the franchise to be designed to fully support PlayStation Move. Not only does the teaser trailer get you in the mood for the game, the use of Move gets you right into the game.
The Show teaser really resonates. It has that sense of unity among the baseball players that make you want to be part of the group.
