Assassin’s Creed – Liberation: Launch Trailer Shows or Female Protagonist

For the first time ever in the history of the Assassin’s Creed series the game is getting a female protagonist. Assassin’s Creed – Liberation is a spin-off title from the main games that will be released exclusively for the PS Vita.

The protagonist, Aveline, is the daughter of a slave. Her mother is murdered and she turns to assassination to bring down the leaders in charge of the slavetrade. To be honest, like all Assassin’s Creed protagonists, she’s pretty badass. Your’s truly got her mitts on the game at Gamescom and I have to say I was really blown away by the gameplay and the controls.

In order to set the scene, Ubisoft have released a trailer that explains the background to the story. The game is set in Louisiana at the height of the slavetrade. Lead scriptwriter for the Assassin’s Creed series, Corey May, recently said that Liberation “is as large and deep as any of the other console entries in the franchise” and that really comes across from this trailer. Take a look for yourself and give us your opinion in the comment section below.

The Assassin’s Creed Liberation release date is October 31, the same day Assassin’s Creed 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360.
