The Witcher 2 – Assassins of Kings: Publisher Working On Two New Projects
Polish publisher CD Projekt Red has plans to develop a couple of ‘AAA+” multiplatform projects at the same time, with a couple of two smaller releases interim. It already launched The Witcher 2 – Assassins of Kings earlier this year. The game was met with critical acclaim and could entertain the studio’s fans for awhile while waiting for the new projects. The plan to work on “two different AAA+ projects simultaneously” was opened up by CD Projekt at an investor’s day presentation. The publisher also said that its next big games will be out in 2014 and 2015. So, The Witcher 2 really has a big role to fill in the meantime.
But hey, it turns out that CD Projekt knows that it really needs to put in some efforts to keep its fans busy. The developer announced that it will be releasing a couple of smaller projects before the next major game is launched. We are not sure yet if CD Projekt considers the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 as one of those smaller projects. The 360 version is up the first quarter of 2012.

The good news is that the studio’s director Adam Badowski has just announced that one of the two major projects is actually entirely new as an intellectual property. Badowski has not, however, given details of the setting or genre of this new property but he did say that the studio will stick to producing complex games. CD Projekt also has plans to release a new title to the The Witcher franchise.
