The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim: And Now Here’s The Nude Mod

It was only ever going to be a matter of time before someone decided that the time was right for The Elder Scrolls 5 – Skyrim to get a nude mod. Those of you who are already familiar with other Bethesda RPGs The Elder Scrolls 4 – Oblivion and Fallout 3 probably won’t be surprised by the appearance of this mod, but what is surprising is the unbelievable speed that the modders at Curse.com have managed to bring this to you.

The mod only effects the female characters and it just really feels more than a little perverted. For those gamers who are actually familiar with the naked female form, the mod just seems crude. The mod gifts all female characters with the same body shape, waist size, bust size, and pubic hair colour. However if you are the sort of gamer who is looking for Skyrim romance, you should probably head over to Curse.com and download the mod. Just be careful not to let your mother find you!

Is this an example of the kind of chauvinism and “boys club” attitude that’s allowed to run amok in the gaming community? Many people see this sort of thing as pointless and degrading, not only to women, but also to men, who find this sort of behavior sickening. Particularly as normally the only way to strip an NPC is to plunder their corpses, the mod feels in bad taste. But each to their own.

    I totally agree. I am a female gamer , and find it incredibly sad that one of the first mods people think this game needs is a female nude one. I have no problem with nudity in films, TV etc, but there is something particularly sad about guys looking at a not very convincing model in a game.

    The fact these mods are always for females speaks volumes. I have no particular desire for an equivalent male version, for some reason I don’t think this type of mod adds anything to the game, certainly not realism.

    I’m sure a lot of people will condemn me for my opinion, but they need to ask themselves why they find a mod like this necessary.

      I’ll give my point of view as a male, who is very comfortable with is sexuality and married and still love my wife and have a really good life. I like those kind of mod.

      Now here come the comment of “degrading not only to women but also to men like me, who find this sort of behavior sickening. But if you enjoy seeing women as objects and enjoy salivating over pixels”. This is the part who most of the anti-nude mod people are wrong. I dont install it to “SEE” nude women, i install for when i stole the gear on a dead women body, that i dont end up seeing a women in a huge leather diaper that goes half over the belly. When there was a woman offering services in other bethesda game, they remained in their undies, wich is not credible. In fallout 3, you had women raiders that had little to no armor, when you removed it, they had a pair of short and a t-shirt that like spawned from nowhere.

      I just like everything in my game to be beautiful and seeing monstrous bra and underwear popping is less charming then see her naked. Of course in every community there is normal people and there will always be 15 years old boy who go download it for their own pleasure, who care really? you said it , its pixel.

      Secondly i would like to bring the fact that body mod made in oblivion were soooo beautiful and then the community made TON of armor for this particular body wich ended up really nice. Instead of all women looking like a potatoe bag, they were really nice looking and cute. So we need to give credit to the nude mod who started this.

      Third , i do recall about a mod made by a woman who remade the male model completely naked even with a mod that make the genitalia grow on demand. I dont feel offended by that, do you? I guess i should write an article about that. Why do i know about this mod? Because i wife who play Oblivion was sick and tired of seeing male who are supposed to be naked in a certain moment/situation and have a leather diaper.

      Its always more charming to see a naked individual in a certain situation then leather undies.

    First off, Rule #34. Always. Second off, it’s a thirdparty mod. It isnt thrust upon you, and it isnt in your game unless you want it to be. I personally won’t be downloading it, and seeing as you dont support it either, i can assume you wont. so why post an article on something that you wont have to deal with?

    Degrading to women? Seen as objects? PLEASE! These are not women they are PIXELS, just like YOU said! And what exactly is so sickening about the naked female body?

    If you were a heterosexual man you would accept the naked female form and admire it in all its beauty. In fact the enjoyment of seeing it would come natural… Believe it or not there is such a thing called physical attraction between human beings of the opposite sex. One of these things tends to be the appearance of the naked body. That means it looks good and normal folk who are not in denial enjoy seeing it. Hence the usefulness of this mod. It is simply a cosmetic additive to please the eye. Is it any different from all the nude art works throughout history?

    You talk about it like you expect gamers to download it so they can actually force themselves on a group of poor unfortunate pixelised women and do unspeakable things to them. Just think of the trauma this mod is causing to all of those computer generated game characters! Oh, they may have go into pixel person rehab!

    But seriously!

    It is the eye of the beholder is who decides whether or not any “woman” (Not a fictional game character) is seen as a mere object or simply a person. And it swings both ways: Some women treat themselves and act like sex objects and only have themselves to blame.

    You want something disturbing? Try the modern day pop stars, wearing very little in their videos and singing about sex to young children and making them feel insecure about their bodies from a ridiculously early age. Toddler beauty pageants that sexualise children! Criticise the companies that manufacture lingerie for 5 year olds!!! Now that IS sick!

    That is something you don’t have a choice to ignore because our modern society puts it out there in our faces. I bet the paedophiles are loving it!

    This is an 18+ game. This is a mod you can choose to ignore and never install. Why complain about it? What other people do with it is their business and not for you to speculate on!

    Since I’m playing a female werewolf, I find it totally breaks the immersion when I transform back to human form with my indestructible underwear intact. I’ve used a nude mod in Oblivion for the very same reason, immersion.

    @ Mazakala Thanks, that was the other thing I forgot to mention! Immersion, which is the probably the main necessity for this mod. If you lose your clothes in real life… Guess what! You are NAKED!

    It’s not like this mod is designed to automatically make every female in the game naked, anyway. You have to actually remove the clothes by some means. Like for example you kill a female bandit who tries to rob you and instead you loot her armour. Then she’s naked… well of course she would be!

      offcourse your going to be using underwear or boxer and offcourse the one who steals your armor will steal your underwear as well its free so why not? and yeah if you find it odd to see a girl naked in a game well too bad, others dont and find it pleasing. Let them have fun with pixels we all know real women will never have that figure. Before any other says i see girls as objects, i dont. the pixel you describe are pixels not real people as some may think (omg the pixels are a naked girl) and damn yesh the modern society is the biggest cause why you get this, this days people sell sex every time they can, it works and gets good money so just deal with it

    I’m happy for you, but, seriously, who cares about all that? I certainly do not. Did I tell you you sicken me cause you don’t like nude mods? No I did not, cause anyone is free to like what he feels like liking, so there is no reason for you to say that to others. If you don’t like it, just stay away from it, no one forces you to use it. Even a baby can understand that. Learn to respect others.

    I do feel it is biased for only female models to be singled out in this way.

    One reason there are no nude males mods is that the male models all have their Balls & Penises missing. Modifying model meshes is a lot more challenging than painting over the underwear. This of course is how the nude female models are done, just open the texture, and paint over the underwear so it looks like skin etc.

    The reason the first nude mod for Skyrim was of a female is simple. Making of a male nude mod would require modder creating a penis on a model. Which, very early on we had no idea how to do, and didn’t have tools to do so. NifScope wasn’t updated yet, we had no plug ins. Now, with female nude mods, really all we had to do was swap a few textures and replace a mesh with a blank one. Yes. That’s all it took. But for a male one, as I said before, we’d have to increase the Polly count so when we do make a penis it doesn’t look like a low res stick from a Japanese porno.

    As for everyone having the same breasts, pubic hair ect. We don’t have scripts right now for the hair, once we do we can start to match it with the hair color of the head. (I’m not a nude modder, I just work with textures, models, and scripts enough to know what I’m talking about.)

    And at the end of the day, let’s face it, the demand for a male nude mod is nothing compared to a female nude mod. I’m not saying it’s fair, but, to be honest, I’m a modder, and I don’t care if you like it or not or if it’s fair or not. The bottom line is this, we do it because we like to, we don’t (Most of us) get payed for this. So, if you really want it that bad, go pay someone to make one.
