Star Wars – The Old Republic: BioWare to Make Exploit Weapon Official
Sometimes exploits can give you something real good to hold on to. Just ask the player who ended up with a silver saber. This player, who was using the name CatchDeathwalker, was being a little mysterious about how he got the item. But how did he really end up with it? According to BioWare, the weapon is an official part of the game. It was, in fact, a drop from a complicated exploit. Yes, an exploit got the player his silver saver.
Apparently, CatchDeathwalker was not just playing coy. He just got hold of the white crystal through an exploit. So, it was not a legit means. So, BioWare is taking away the crystal from him. However, BioWare had to say that the exploit was not something that any player will just “stumble upon.” So, CatchDeathwalker was still pretty keen is a player and has achieved something excellent but not quite commendable because of the question of its legitimacy. At the moment, nobody can yet legitimately get hold of the White Lightsaber Crystal even by using all sorts of methods and strategies. However, BioWare plans to provide that possibility in the future. It also said that it will let everyone know so that gamers know when they should start hunting for the white crystal.
In a future update, the white crystal will become some sort of high level reward. White crystals, in the beta version serve as world boss drops. The whitesaber model of course exists of CatchDeathwalker would not have been able to get his hands whatever the legitimacy status.

The white crystal may not be the only exploit reward out there. The wilds of Tatooine and Hoth seem to be filled with all sorts of items just waiting to be found. It is up to BioWare to make them legit finds.
