Serious Sam 3 – BFE: Mac Users Can Look Forward to April 23
The first-person shooter Serious Sam 3 – BFE debuts on the Mac come April 23. Just in case you are wondering BFE stands for “Before First Encounter”. Set in the 22nd century in the middle of the earth’s invasion by the extraterrestrial Mental. Set in 22nd century Egypt, the game can be played in co-op mode and split-screen.
The co-op mode accommodates 16 players while the split screen hosts 4 players. Originally released via Steam last November 22, developer Croteam has yet to announce the release dates for the game’s Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports. Croteam hasn’t released the minimum system requirements for the Mac version of their game but it will be available through GetGames and Steam. It doesn’t look like pre-orders are available.
The game’s design sensibility seems rooted in 90s era first person shooters with the player facing down wave after wave of enemies while moving from one lush environment after another.
