Resident Evil 6: Finally Confirmed
After all the rumors and the hip viral campaign, Capcom has finally confirmed that there will be a Resident Evil 6. There has been a lot of talk about where the game will be set and which characters will end up being playable. The best thing really about the Capcom announcement is that the game already has a launch date for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The AAA title from Capcom will be out on November 20th for said consoles. The PC version’s launch will come trailing behind.
Capcom has also provided some details about the installment. Resident Evil 6 is set ten years after the big Raccoon City event. At this point, the President of the United States has come to a decision to reveal the details of what really happened. By revealing the truth, he thinks he will prevent more bioterrorist attacks. Leon Scott Kennedy, Raccoon City survivor and the President’s personal friend, must extend his aid.
Meanwhile, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield has arrived in China. So there is some truth to the China setting rumors. The country is also threatened by bioterrorism. In fact, the whole world’s population has been united only because of this common threat and fear. People believe that there is “no hope left”.
The game will not just be set in the United States and China but also in several other locations all over the world. In Resident Evil 6, we will also see Leon and Chris team up for the first time ever. There has been no confirmation yet on whether the game will come with a local and online co-op but executive producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi seem to hint on the return of the co-op element.
