NBA 2K13: What to Change from the Previous Title
2K Sports has definitely snagged the basketball simulation game niche from the recognized behemoth of the sports simulation niche, EA Sports. While 2K Sports has the ball in its hands right now, it has to dribble smart and execute some quick plays, or else it might find itself playing second fiddle to EA Sports after lobbing a few air balls.
Here are just a few ideas on how 2K Sports can step its game up enough to keep any competitors from launching a serious attempt to take its turf. While NBA 2K12 has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the best basketball simulation titles in several years, it can tighten its game some more. 2K Sports should incorporate the skills competition, three-point shot contests, and dunk contests. Ball Physics can use a little tightening up to take care of small but definitely annoying quirks like too much backspin on bouncing balls, warping off rims to rebounders, or strange bounce patterns. Commentary keeps the game action exciting. However, instead of just one guy, have the commentary rotate. This will keep the game fresh. My Player, even though it is one of the best features of NBA 2K12, can use a little improvement in the customizability department.

While you can customize it to an extent, the system does prevent you from going crazy with the custom tweaks. Maybe 2K Sports should ease up on the customization controls so players can end up with characters that truly reflect the wide extent of their creative imaginations. Roll on NBA 2K13
