Metal Gear – Rising Revengeance: Kojima Talks Changes
Lately, Hideo Kojima has been talking more about what is in store about Metal Gear. He has actually talked about a lot of things such as his intriguing Project Ogre and his opinions about the gaming industry. He even talked about killing Snake. Metal Gear Solid is one of the most successful PlayStation franchises, however, things are not quite the same with it lately.
Last month, with the announcement of Metal Gear Rising – Revengeance, fans are getting more of a feel of what has been going on. I mean thinks are certainly changing, with the game moving on towards a different style of gameplay as well as a different genre altogether. Hideo Kojima is now looking at a different direction. But looking back, it was really Metal Gear Solid that jumpstarted and cemented his career. Here he is though, wanting to kill Solid Snake for more than a decade now. Apparently, only the fans are keeping Snake alive. “In Guns of The Patriots he was supposed to die, but everyone on the staff really wanted to keep him alive, so I caved a little. I did have the feeling that I wanted to end the series, but…I think as long as people want to keep on playing it, I want to keep on meeting that demand…”
Despite the dramatic departure from the usual genre and gameplay, Metal Gear still has a soft spot in its creator’s heart. Kojima wants the franchise to remain a part of his universe and he likes the idea of Raiden growing his fanbase as a character.

Hardcore fans of the original Metal Gear Solid franchise may not be too happy about the recent changes but maybe Kojima really has plans that could gear it towards a better direction while he also introduces something completely new.
