Mass Effect 3: Valentines Day Beta Launch Announced
Mass Effect 3′s developer, BioWare, is scheduled to begin the beta for the science fiction action series’ latest installment on February 14th for holders of the Battlefield 3 passes. These pass holders will get an access to the demo earlier than the other gamers, who will be able to join in on February 17th.
The beta will feature the start of the game’s single-player campaign plus some of the co-operative multiplayer mode. “We are excited to be able to give gamers an extensive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war,” says BioWare executive producer Casey Hudson. “The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we’ve ever done. With its intense action, deep customization and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike.” An earlier, rougher version of the beta was leaked in the Internet by accident last November, so some of the gamers already had their first look of the BioWare’s role-playing title. The leaked beta was very unpolished and will not reflect the actual game when it is finished. The game modes, then, were still in the beginning steps of their development so the experienced glitches and the issues will not be a problem in this scheduled beta.
The company is planning to hold contests in Mass Effect’s official website over the succeeding weeks. Contest winners can be included among the lucky gamers who can try on the beta on February 14th. It is not clear when the beta testing will end, but the title is scheduled for release in early March.
