King Arthur 2: Sequel Announced
Paradox’ King Arthur fantasy role playing game featured a hybrid game engine that melded the RPG and real time strategy game genres. This hybrid approach is definitely innovative and made quite a few fans. If you are a fan of this game, you’re in for some welcome news–King Arthur is going to have a sequel. According to Paradox, the studio behind King Arthur, the sequel will feature the title character as an injured king trying to piece together a broken realm.
Just based on Paradox’ announcement of the development of King Arthur 2, it appears that Paradox is swinging for the fences with this project. According to their press release, Arthur II seeks to be “more heroic, large scale battles with bigger armies are at reach to defeat more powerful foes. Intense boss fights never seen before promise to pit hero’s forces against unique and terrifying enemies.
“A new wide range of camera control options, revised animations and an extensive tutorial will provide for the ultimate gaming experience.”
So far, there’s no release date announced yet but the trailer video is quite breathtaking. I have a strong suspicion that King Arthur II will make many fantasy RPGers very happy indeed.
