Guild Wars 2: New Crafting Video Released
The recently released press beta for the upcoming online RPG Guild Wars 2 is starting to yield dividends. We have been treated to a video, among many that will crop up to be sure, that highlights one key aspect of the upcoming game title-crafting. As any serious RPG gamer can attest to, crafting and skills development are some of the key elements of any RPG worth its salt.
This particular crafting video shows that Guildwars 2 will contain many of the standard features of RPG crafting. The video shows the standard component construction, crafting items from components, and crafting larger units from these elements. The video, in particular, showed armor crafting. Also, prior to crafting, you talk with an NPC nearby for some instructions or purchases. The steps are quite simple and intuitive enough. Anyone who has played RPGs before can quickly take to this system since there appears to be any guesswork needed on the player’s part.
Guild Wars 2 is a heavily anticipated RPG title since its predecessor has a large installed base and many players consider it a good alternative to standard MMORPGs like World of Warcraft. An upcoming beta that is open to the public has already pulled in 1 million registrations. Expect this game to make an impact.
