Grand Theft Auto 5: Release Date Hinted by Xbox Australia
What do the Australians and the Kiwis know that we don’t a promotion by the official Australasian Xbox 360 Facebook group has inadvertently indicated that Grand Theft Auto 5 could be heading our way in Q4 2012. This would of course be amazing if it were true.
The group is running a competition that offers fans of the group the chance to win a selection of games if they are able to “crack the code”. Among the titles that are up for grabs is Grand Theft Auto 5. The competition runs from May 1st to 20th December or until the code is crack. So surely it follows that they know that they will have a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 before Christmas? Well of course this is just a hint. It could be that the winner will just receive a pre-order token. This is not stated in the terms and conditions. The prerequisites are that the entrant must be a resident of Australia or New Zealand and own an Xbox Live subscription.
With all the excitement surrounding GTA 5 it is little wonder that everyone is grabbing at tidbits of information. So far Rockstar have remained unbelievably tight tipped about the game, though I believe that this will change after Max Payne 3 has been released. Rockstar are very smart and they would not want to dilute any excitement from either title. Industry analyst Michael Pachter believes that Rockstar will flaunt Grand Theft Auto 5 the day before E3 in an attempt to steal everyone else’s thunder. If Rockstar do do this then a Q4 release date may not be so unreasonable. Dear Santa…
