Diablo 3: Razer to Release New RPG Mouse
Razer sure knows what product to make because it has the habit of launching input devices just in time for high profile PC games’ releases. The company’s new gaming mouse is called the Naga Hex. It has been especially designed for all action RPGs. It has six thumb-side buttons that will make it easier for gamers to push the right button at the right time. RPGs come with so many commands to remember that even the thumb has to have some kind of mind of its own.
It seems, however, that Razer is targeting a particular game this time – Diablo 3. Diablo 3 is set to be launched first quarter of 2012. Razer is also promoting the Naga Hex as the gaming mouse for the MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) genre. Competitive multiplayer games fall under this genre. An example of such a game is the popular League of Legends from Riot Games. Razer sure knows how to time its product release. The gaming mouse is also close on the heels of the Star Wars – The Old Republic mouse, keyboard and headset that the company had launched last year. It was also previously planned that the Naga mouse be tied to Blizzard’s World of Warcraft updates.
The Naga mouse, though a new offering, is not explicitly branded. At least, nobody can criticize Razer right now for taking an existing product and then putting a new skin on it. This has been a past criticism on Razer’s branded efforts. The Naga Hex has 11 programmable buttons in total as well as a 5,600 dpi laser sensor with 1000MHz polling. These features are typical for an upper-tier gaming mouse. Naga Hex can also register more than 250 clicks per minute, which makes it perfect for fast-clicking RPG action.5.
The product can now be pre-ordered at $79. Pre-orders will be sent out by the end of the month and worldwide release is in March.
