Dear Esther and Amnesia: Developer Collaboration Will Bring You the Next Amnesia

The creators of two indie games that have cult followings are teaming up to put together a super group for indie horror titles. The project? An Amnesia-derived title. If that isn’t enough to get the survival horror fan inside you to leap with joy, the best part of the news is that this upcoming title will be out the door before Halloween rolls around.

This is great news considering the pedigree of this game. It will be developed by no other than the brains behind Dear Esther, the thechineseroom, and the creators of Amnesia, Frictional. One thing is clear though, this upcoming title is not exactly a sequel to Amnesia. It doesn’t have the same characters but it is set in the same game universe and alternate history as Amnesia.

The new game, Amnesia - A Machine for Pigs, relates the story of Oswald Mandus. He wakes from a magical coma due to the roar of a machine that assaulted his nightmares. If all these initial details and the pedigree of the developers has gotten you excited, don’t worry, you’re not alone. This is the perfect opportunity to remind you about the Dear Esther trailer below which isn’t new, but still worth to watch.

The good news is that there is supposedly a big reveal coming soon. Not exactly surprising since it is standard industry practice to drop more details as a game’s launch date looms closer.
