Darksiders 2: You Know it’s Time to Get Excited when the Box Art Arrives
The apocalyptic themed action game Darksider 2′s release date is fast approaching. The title drops on June 26 but up until very recently, we didn’t have box art for this action game. Thankfully, the box art has now been released and it looks… awesome. Death sure does look like he is not the “speak gently convince with your innate sensitivity” type of action protagonist.
Nope. This dude packs a pair of what could described as broken off scythes. Just judging from the gray, black, and gradation colors, this game is going to pack serious action. What would you expect from a game called “Darksiders 2″ and a protagonist named Death? Papaya-colored backgrounds and dancing banana motiffs probably didn’t even get thought off. Nothing bright or funky about this title. It’s cover clearly conveys that it is serious about one thing-hard gaming action. The cover’s ominous theme is quite appropriate since DarkSiders 2 is, after all, a revenge story. As we reported earlier, Death’s brother, War was falsely convicted by the Charred Council and sentenced to remain on Earth. He was meted this sentence for starting the Apocalypse ahead of schedule. Darksiders 2 tracks Death’s mission in the Nether Realms of finding evidence that will clear his brother.

Just based on the recent Part 1 trailer for this game, Death sure knows how to take care of opponents that get in his way. I suspect he’ll find that evidence sure enough. By the way, there’s no ESRB rating on the cover but, after watching the trailer, we suspect it will be an M rating.
