Darksiders 2: Death’s combat play developer interview released
Macabre fantasy third person party combat game, Darksiders 2 has just released a developer interview video and it outlines the differences between the original Darksiders and Darksiders 2.
During the interview with game director Marvin Donald, it becomes clear that Darksiders 2 will have a lot of changes. One key change is the focus on the main protagonist, Death, and the change in mobility he brings to the table. Unlike the combat in Darksiders, Death’s movement is more agile and is more mobile and “fun” to play than the previous protagonist in the series, War.
While War is more like a classic tank who takes hits, Death is more agile and the focus is more on combat strategy instead of a standard hack and slash. Death also has a weapon that changes with levels. He starts off with double scythes. Loot can be equipped and also there is an RPG overlay with stats. You can get weapons experience and skill levels. Players are also challenged to piece together armor and weapon combinations to fit their fighting style. The loot feature definitely adds a fresh new dimension to this game.
