Dark Souls: PC Port A Go-Go

So it is official. Namco Bandai’s solid as a rock action RPG Dark Souls is coming to the PC. Rumors of a PC port have been floating around since before the game’s console launch last year but the developer’s insisted that they would not bring the game to the PC unless they were sure they could do it right.

Well it looks like that decision has been made. Aside from just the standard port, PC gamers will be treated to a whole new chapter too. The Dark Souls – Prepare to Die Edition, as the PC port is now called, will feature a new chapter called Artorias of the Abyss. This chapter not only features a new location but also has new enemies and bosses. One of whom is apparently called the Dark Knight Artorias. Part of the reason the decision for a PC port took so long was that Namco Bandai wanted to ensure that the game they put out would take advantage of all the features the PC has to offer. As a result Dark Souls – Prepare to Die Edition will feature a tweaked PVP mode. This enhanced mode should improve the whole player versus player experience for the gamer.

The Dark Souls PC version is set for release in the summer on August 24th. It seems that the Japanese developers have taken on board fans’ pleas for a PC port. Lets hope they really can transfer the game from the consoles to the PC successfully.
