Call of Duty – Black Ops 2: Game will Include Female Characters
In an effort to show that Treyarch’s latest project really has moved intot he future players will meet female NPCs for the first time in the franchises history. Not only does Call of Duty – Black Ops 2 feature a female pilot that gets players out of harm’s way, the game also features a female President.
From zero female presence to a female Head of State. Times are truly changing in the world of Call of Duty and it is a great president to set. Obviously in the previous Black Ops game it would have been historically in accurate to include female military personnel, though Treyarch did, of course, include the character of Emmanuelle, though her role was rather that of seductress, with he focus on her lips. Even now, in 2012, we are beginning to see more and more female officers. In terms of taking the FPS genre a step forward this is a great move by Treyarch and one that I hope that Infinity Ward will pick up on next time round. According to reports about the latest installment’s demo and development, players not only get to interact with female NPCs, there is also a female character role. Good to see that COD’s integration of females into a previously all male game involves not the shallow and, ultimately insulting, eye candy inclusions to diversify from a purely male perspective.

While this is great news for the story-focused part of the game, the single player, what does this change hold for players who play the game mostly for its multiplayer aspect? Treyarch has not deliberated on a create-a-class implementation yet. Call Of Duty has none so far but , hopefully, Treyarch will decide to go all the way and truly integrate the game-not just in single player but also in multiplayer which is the meat and potatoes of the game.
