Call of Duty – Black Ops 2: Better Elite Integration In Next COD Game?
Whether you are a fan of the Call of Duty franchise or not, the truth remains that the series’ annual releases are often the biggest releases of any given year. This year’s Call of Duty has been widely rumored to be a sequel to Black Ops. Moreover, it is also said to be under the development of Treyarch.
In line with this release, the game’s publisher Activision plans to integrate the Elite stat tracking and community platform better into the upcoming title. This integration would be tighter than Elite’s current implementation in Modern Warfare 3. The current implementation of Elite is not very seamless. On the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, Elite is merely an app you can access from the game dashboard. While there is some integration with the game, it could use a more seamless fit.
The upgraded Elite, dubbed Elite 2.0, will focus on game integration. According to Activision’s Noah Heller, “integration is the word of the day”. He envisions Elite to be inside the game and tightly connected with Call of Duty’s features.
It looks like Treyarch is definitely busy, and it appears that Activision’s long term goal is to make Elite and Call of Duty synonymous. Heller sees any multiplayer action in the future as necessarily involving Elite. Now, that’s a seamless vision.
