2K Sports: The Mystery of the Justin Bieber’s 2K Sports Shoutout
There’s nothing like a mysterious pronouncement from a very polarizing popular entertainer to get people taking about 2K Sports. Justin Bieber, the one entertainer (in addition to Lady Gaga, of course) that many entertainment observers either love or hate, issued a mysterious tweet on his official Twitter feed.
The tweet reads “shoutout to @Ronnie2K – everyone follow him. good people. thanks for the good time. the eye will heal. ha.” The most obvious reaction would be: Is this a paid endorsement? Is this some sort of marketing deal done by the big time publisher 2K and a very popular entertainer with 17 million followers? 17 million Twitter followers. That’s some traction. Given the high value of Bieber’s twitter feed real estate, attention has turned to what Ronnie Singh (the @Ronnie2K referred to in the tweet) of 2K Sports has to say.
Ronnie is in charge of digital marketing at 2K Sports. What happened prior to this tweet? Singh said thanks to Bieber’s head of security and apologizes for giving Bieber a shiner. In return, Bieber retweets him to his millions of Beliebers and gives Ronnie a shout out. Either some detail is missing or something else is afoot.
