Mortal Kombat: Fighting Game Coming to PlayStation Vita System

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has just announced that Mortal Kombat will be shipping for the PlayStation Vita system sometime in Spring of 2012. The game was developed by NetherRealm Studios. It does provide an experience that can be associated with on-the-go gaming. It will also make use of new game play features and content that are compatible with the Vita.

NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon said “The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.” He also went on to say that his team is committed to following up on the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat. So, they hope to provide a satisfying and compelling experience on Sony’s new handheld device. “The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.” 2011’s Mortal Kombat was surely a success having sold three million units worldwide. The game even won several “Best Fighting Game of 2011” awards.

Mortal Kombat is back to its mature version, which turns out to be a good thing. Fans want more of the exaggerated kills and wince-inducing X0ray moves. The franchise’s latest instalment also brings the game back to a 2D fighting plane while also introducing some new gameplay features, which include Challenge Tower, Tag Team and a story mode. There are several other new features to come up because Mortal Kombat is being developed for the PS Vita system. We will know more in the next few months. Just wait for more word from NetherRealm or even from Sony.
