Medal of Honor – Warfighter: Title Goes Global in First Look
Game blog Danger Close treats fans to a first look of the Medal of Honor series’ latest installment, Medal of Honor – Warfighter. Whether online or offline, it seems that every facet of the upcoming title involves teamwork among international military teams. The game involves 12 differing countries and features some of the most elite units in the world.
Whether it is the German KSK, Polish GROM squads, or British SAS units, this game zeroed in on the best military tactical units the world has to offer. Unlike its 2010 installment’s Afghanistan setting, Warfighter takes players literally in opposite sides of the globe. Many countries are featured in the game but most notably, the title will take players to the Philippines and Somalia. Players can handle characters from past installments of the game but they will also team up with local elite units wherever they find themselves in the in-game world.
Medal of Honor – Warfighter stands out because it is powered by the same Frostbite 2 engine that turned a lot of otherwise jaded fps fans’ heads with Battlefield 3. If you are looking for gorgeous graphics rendering and amazing light and sound effects, you just can’t go wrong with Frostbite 2. Environmental destructibility is in full display for this title as exemplified by street level combat in a monsoon-flooded city in the Philippines. Bullets splash through the flood waters as task force members mow down enemies which cash through wooden floorboards, tables, posts, and other environmental elemetns.

While many of the game’s elements seem familiar, there is one difference that stands out-players are given a choice regarding breaching a barrier. You get to choose to blast your way in with explosives, kick it in, or lob a flashbang. Nice touch. This title drops on October 23.
