Max Payne 3: Game Soundtrack Slated for May 23 Release
If you have been lucky enough to watch it, you have to admit that the TV ad spot for the upcoming hard nosed hard charging action adventure Max Payne series installment, Max Payne 3, is quite catchy. Apparently, this was not lost on the game’s developer, Rockstar Games. If you got the catchy tune stuck in your head, you can actually purchase it from iTunes come May 15.
What’s more, you can buy the game’s whole soundtrack this coming May 23. So who is the talent behind this hypnotic ad tune? The band Health. Yes, we’re talking about Health as in the name of the band, not your state of fitness or level of hit points in video games. Health is a Los Angeles-based band that formed in 2006. The band’s stock and trade is moody and atmospheric pieces. Precisely what makes Max Payne 3 such a musical delight. According to Rockstar’s supervisor of soundtracks, Ivan Pavlovich, the band has created hundreds of hours of great music for Max Payne 3′s score. They have succeeded in distilling it all into an atmospheric and moody soundtrack album. He said that the latest Max Payne title shot for a completely unique sound by going the route of retaining a band instead of hiring a composer. Given the responses to Max Payne’s ad, it looks like it worked perfectly.
Make no mistake about it, everything about this game, its look, its story, its setting, its attitude, its action, and, of course, its sound, is quite riveting. No wonder, the Max Payne series has such a loyal fan base.
