Guild Wars 2: Popular MMORPG Sequel 2012 Launch Confirmed

Announced way back in 2007, Guild Wars 2 may have made its fans give up on it a long time ago. In 2009, the developer ArenaNet was comfortable enough to release a trailer. Then, it was announced that the game may end up being delayed further for 2011 with a demo on the ready by 2010. It is now 2012 and we are still waiting – or not.

The MMORPG has certainly gone through a lot in terms of development. It has even bordered on becoming mythical, something talked about but never seen. So, you cannot blame us for no longer listing the game as one of the year’s most anticipated. This time around, the game may have regained its status as much-anticipated. Again, MMO gamers are excited. Some of them are even more excited for Guild Wars 2 than for Star Wars – The Old Republic and that certainly says a lot. So here is the big news – Guild Wars 2 will finally be released this year. Also, “select press” will be invited to a limited beta this coming February. More people will be asked to test the game by March and April. This could mean that the game will be released in late Spring or early Summer. Right now, the game title certainly looks as if it is moving forward in terms of development.

This could then be the year that sees some of the games that looked as if they were not ever going to make it to launch time. We do wonder how much has been changed with Guild Wars 2 since its previous appearances. The game was announced a few years ago and has been expected to be released a lot earlier than this year. But here we are finally with the knowledge that the game will be out soon or soon enough. Will the game satisfy?
