Grand Theft Auto 5: D Day Finally Here For Trailer

Well here it is! It’s finally arrived. After a nail biting week Rockstar games have finally released the new grand Theft Auto 5 trailer. We have all been anxiously watching the clock all day. So what is it all about. Well it seems that some of the rumors were true. There are a lot of the San Andreas locales featured in the clip. On the other hand, however, the protagonist is a dad – trying to do good by his kids, and not a Hispanic perp named Adrian.

Don’t be fooled by the dad-trying-to-do-good routine. This is Grand Theft Auto after all. The clip takes us to the seedy underbelly of Vinewood (or L.A. lets face it) with all the drugs, crime, prostitution, and violence that make up this highly popular franchise. Grand Theft Auto 5 is widely believed to be the most highly anticipated video game of all time, with industry observers predicting astronomical sales and talks of next generation consoles. Well, we shall see. This is definately very exciting times for the industry.

As for the trailer itself, this observer wasn’t blown away by the graphic style, or plot premise, but it really is too early to make an informed decision. The depth of graphics on show in this clip are not any better than those seen in Uncharted 3 and the storyline is certainly no Skyrim – but who cares? That’s not the point of GTA. Lets face it as long as we all get to break into cars using a pool cue and then drive around like a maniac randomly shooting at passers-by we’ll all be happy. Obviously these early trailers tell us very little about the actual game. We’ll just have to wait and see the game play footage as it leaks on to the internet.
