Grand Theft Auto 5: Amazon Leaks Release Date?
Is it just me or is there something to Amazon or other e-tailer’s overseas versions accidentally “leaking” sensitive game release information? As we have reported before, french, italian, and other overseas versions of big e-tailers have “accidentally” leaked game release dates from time to time.
This time, it is Amazon UK’s turn. The massive online retailer recently modified the console version of Grand Theft Auto 5′s release date. The bad news is that the faux pas did not mention an exact date. The good news is that, sorry if I whip out my party hat, the highly anticipated open world game series installment will be released this year. Yes, you can stop rubbing your eyes now-it is real. According to the screenshot, we made sure we get a shot because these types of “accidental” information releases are often “resolved” by retailers when they pull or modify the page containing the “leak”.
If this all pans out, GTA fans will have a lot to celebrate come the final month of this year. Also, if the release month is correct, expect Grand Theft Auto 5′s developer, Rockstar Games, to steadily release information about the game as we get closer to its December drop date. Given the dearth of information we have so far about this title, expect the blogosphere to keep constant tabs on every word that slips past Rockstar’s secretive PR/marketing division. There are just so many questions about the game’s setting, features, and game play, it will probably take days to list them all out. Let’s just let Rockstar handle them bit by bit as December gets closer.
