Final Fantasy 13-2: Two New Trailers Released at TGS 2011
The latest installment of the long running Japanese RPG title Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 13-2, has two new trailers out. They focus on the upcoming title’s storyline and also gives us a peek into the character designs of the returning cast will have. The first trailer, for the PS3, is dubbed “Promise.” This trailer shows off the interesting interplay between the main protagonists of Final Fantasy 13-2 – Sarah, Hope, and Snow. They express their fears, hopes, and doubts as they look for the heroine of Final Fantasy 13, Lightning. The Promise trailer is well put-together and features a great soundtrack by the international singing sensation Charice Pempengco titled “New World.” The character design is, predictably, the updated anime-style images that make Final Fantasy distinctive from other RPG. Let’s put it this way – you wouldn’t confuse this trailer’s character design with the character art of Bioware RPG titles or The Elder Scrolls. Final fantasy has its own distinctive character design sensibility.
The second trailer is dubbed “Despair,” it features the new character Gaius. what makes this trailer intriguing is that it digs deeper into the time travel element for Final Fantasy 13-2. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the time travel feature will end with this installment. Hopefully, if this title turns out to be a big seller, publisher Square Enix would reconsider its decision.
