Final Fantasy 13-2: Meet The Cast In New Trailer
The newest installment from the Final Fantasy franchise was first released in Japan last December 15th and, as earlier announced by Square Enix, is slated to be released next year, in North America on the 31st of January and in Europe on the 3rd of February on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
Final Fantasy fans in the US will have to wait another month but online content in gaming sites is already teeming with excerpted videos and stills of the game, including the new set of characters and plotline available from the Japanese release. Check in out and you’ll recognize some familiar faces returning to the Final Fantasy XIII-2, along with new ones features in and out of combat episodes. The game is a direct sequel to the 8th iteration released in 2009, and has a time setting that is 3 years forward from the Final Fantasy XIII which ended with the main protagonist Lighting disappearing into an obscure world. The new games starts out with her younger sister Serah Farron returning to the game and a new character in a time travelling boy named Noel Kreiss joining together on a crusade to locate and rescue Lightning.
There are several new characters that include Lightning’s fated arch-enemy Caius Ballad, Noel’s former mentor in purple hair and black clothes and the game’s main antagonist; his companion Paddra Nsu-Yeul, a mysterious Pulsian seeress that Serah hinted in the last game; and Alyssa Zaidelle from the Academy, a young girl sporting a short blonde hair in red and yellow garb.
In addition, you can expect several familiar characters like Snow Villiers, Hope Estheim, Oerba Dia Vanille, Oerba Yun Fang and NORA confirmed to be returning.
